80% (percent) pass in SSC Exam 2010
A total of 79.98 percent candidates passed this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations under 10 educational boards across the country, showing a 9.09 percent increase in the pass rate from previous year�s.
The pass rate is 77.99 in Dhaka broad, 72.31 in Chittagong, 81.03 in Comilla, 71.70 in Dinajpur, 79.18 in Jessore, 74.64 in Barisal, 85.61 in Rajshahi, 78.42 in Sylhet, 86.70 in madrasa and 82.72 in technical board.
A total of 82,961 students have achieved the highest score of GPA-5 (Grade Point Average) under all 10 boards this year, which is 20,656 more than last year�s results. In 2009, 62,307 secured the best score in the SCC exams.
Under the 10 broads, a total of 9,60,492 students have been successful in the examinations, which is 2,09,000 more compared to the previous year.
On Saturday morning, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
PM�s Adviser HT Imam and the chairmen of all the education broads were present on the occasion.
Later, the education minister announced the results at a press conference at the ministry in the afternoon.
A total of 1,206,019 examinees from 26,192 educational institutions took part in the exams under eight education boards, one madrasa education board and one technical education board.
The SSC results have been available in the educational institutions.
